To the editor:
|
| I urge your readers to help us get out the vote for three
great candidates for the Reston Association board: Suzi Jones
for the at-large seat, Doug Bushòe for the North Point seat,
and Mike Corrigan for the Lake Anne-Tall Oaks seat. |
| This is one of the most important local community elections
ever in Reston. With the leadership of these three excellent,
positive community builders, we have a chance to see the Reston
Association truly fulfill its promise in "Making the Reston
Difference." It is a critical election because there are several
major issues and decisions facing RA over the next couple
of years, and much is at stake in sustaining and building
upon the good morale of RAüs staff and fine base of volunteers. |
| Suzi is an effective, positive, and experienced community
leader. She is a past Reston Association president (four years)
and was chair of the recent RA Blue Ribbon Committee investigating
the future of RA's fiscal options. |
| Doug is a member of RA's Covenants Committee, committed
to Reston principles. He brings a fresh approach, commitment
to objective evaluation of issues, and experience as the chief
financial officer of EDGE Office Solutions. |
| Mike, who has been a resident of Lake Anne since 1974, is
concerned about environmental and recreational issues. These
include the health of Lake Anne and erosion in the streambeds,
maintenance of safe pathways where residents can exercise
and enjoy nature. |

| Suzi, Doug, and Mike are committed to working cooperatively
with each other and the RA board and staff, as well as other
Reston organizations. |
