Snow Removal Not Up to Snuff
To the editor:
I'm willing to conceed that the first snow storm of the season may have taken us a bit by surprise.
However, our neighborhood streets were still quite a mess!
I saw the first leaf clearing take place on Dranesville Road weeks ago, and just assumed that Madison Forest Drive would be next.
Our leaf piles were never touched. After the snow, when the plows finally did get around to our street, they piled the leaves up in front of our house so high, that mail delivery would have been impossible if we hadn't pushed the piles down the curb a bit, which was quite a feat, considering the snow and ice that added to the weight of the piles!
Come on, public works! Give us a break.
We try to keep things clear and neat for your pickups and plowing, but you really dropped the ball this time.
Please make sure to include our smaller side streets in your next round of efforts.
Mayor: We're watching!
